Assuming that correct spelling could make sense of this one, whom, exactly, is he worked up about? His sign might better have read: "I'm not an institutionalized paranoid schizophrenic, but I'm working on it."

"Dissent is the highest form or patriotism" What half-wit wrote that piece of nonsense? I have heard that phase before so it can't be original to this site. But think about it for a moment. The highest form of patriotism, really? Military service, Public service, even picking up trash along the highway would count in my book as higher forms of patriotism.

The military protect the country from outside enemies (or the occasional coup). The people doing public service keep the country running. The dissenters try to protect the country from the insidious internal threat of overreaching politicians. Many countries have been saved from incoming dictatorship or unnecessary wars by people protesting in the street, exposing themselves to government retaliation for what they believe (it's a lot harder to hide from your own gvt). In some recent cases that sadly wasn't enough. Highest? Probably not. Up there near the top? Yep!
Dissent is the highest form of patriotism. I believe in this whole-heartedly.
And I appreciate anyone who has the gumption to protest despite their handicapped abilities to articulate what they oppose. Their right, and ours, to a freedom of speech is something few in this world can savor. Another right we should not forget to savor, though, is the right to mock them.
Some of these signs have been floating around the internet for a while and could be called classics, others are new. They just needed to be collected in one place. Please enjoy, and share it with your friends.
