The Sins of overTaxion

After looking at this sign, I wonder at what point do you need to stop showing up at these rallies and just give up at protesting? What am I missing?

I swear to God, the best trick the right ever pulled was convincing the middle class of the double whammy that they're 1. rich and 2. being taxed to death. The tax bracket into which the average teabagger falls (presumably < $137,300, married filing jointly, a couple kiddos) is completely bloated with credits and deductions. They can effectively come close to owing nothing at tax time if they plan properly.

Never mind that though, there's still a legion of deluded, sign-toting dopes out there who think they've "made it" because they're pulling in 70k-ish a year and were approved to finance a new Ford pickup. I'm sure their boss' boss appreciates them picketing big gubmint and all that it stands for.

Oh yeah, a couple of conservative radio and TV hosts, authors, and a self-described "hockey mom" who pulled in $12 million last year are the only people in America who truly understand them and their problems.
